2006 N.I.C.F. Prize Presentation Dinner.

Team Madigan riders were rewarded at the Northern Ireland Cycling Federation prize presentation dinner held in the Newforge Country Club, Malone, Belfast on 13th October 2006.  Mrs Gillian Mitchell kindly presented the prizes.

Super Simon is T.T. Best All Rounder.

Simon Stockton from Carrickfergus had a superb Time Trial season taking Gold in the N.I. Time Trial Best all Rounder competition.  Simon also finished 2nd in the N.I. Time Trial league, and took First Team medals in the N.I. 25-mile and 50-mile Time Trial Championships.  This was Simon’s first serious season having only taken up racing a couple of years ago.  Last year Simon was making tremendous progress before a heavy crash cancelled his racing for the whole year.  For this reason his winning of the 2006 Northern Ireland Time Trial BAR is all the more significant.

Larne’s Mel McCann had another fine season winning a Silver medal in the N.I. Time Trial BAR and First Team medals in the N.I. 25-mile and 50-mile Time Trial Championships.

Larne’s Davy Clarke (always so consistent!) won First Team medals in the N.I. 25-mile and 50-mile Time Trial Championships.

Mossley’s John Neill finished in joint 1st place in the Senior Track League.  John also represented the club well in the open road races throughout the year.  He was up there with all the big hitters.  His stage win in the Bobby Crilly 3-Day seen him back to winning ways after back problems kept him out of the sport for a number of years.

Larne’s Paul Agnew had another rewarding season! Paul won a Bronze medal in the N.I. Time Trial BAR giving the Madigan club all three medals in this season long competition at various distances.  Paul also finished in 6th place in the N.I. Time Trial League.

Carrick’s Richard Alexander was another first year rider and came through the season building in strength throughout.  It was great to see him taking 3rd place and the bronze medal in the Under16 Track League.

Mossley’s David Neill had a superb first season having been coached by older brother John he took 2nd place and the silver medal in the Under16 Track League.  Using the 2006 season learning the tactic’s David should come through to challenge strongly in 2007.
