Thanks very much indeed to all the 179 people who took part in the John Lindsay memorial Torr Head Cycle Challenge in aid of the Haematology Unit of the Belfast City Hospital who gave John exemlary care throughout his battle with cancer over the winter and spring months of 2003.  A staggering £3500 was lifted on the day and a further £700 has come in a few days latter.  A rough estimate would be a total of around £5,000  Many thanks also to everyone who sponsored the riders.   The weather was kind and everyone enjoyed the day.  Team Madigan Cycling Club were delighted with the response, almost double the number of people expected took part.  Extra medals have been ordered by John's girlfriend Helen and his mum Valerie, who along with the family circle also pass on their gratitude to all concerned.  If you took part in the event and did not get a commemorative medal, then your medal can be picked up from Madigan Cycles / Pro Bike Centre, Carrickfergus at the end of October 20003.  Below are a few photo's to enjoy:

This is a front and rear photo of the superb (one off) commemorative medal that every one will be given as a token of thanks from Helen and Mrs. Lindsay for taking part in the John Lindsay memorial event that will help others with cancer.  If you have not obtained your medal please call at Madigan Cycles / Pro Bike Centre, Carrickfergus, where your medal will be available from the end of October.  We apologize to those who had to wait for a medal, the response to the event was so good that extra medal's had to be ordered and everyone will get a medal.  On behalf of the Lindsay family, Helen and Team Madigan Cycling Club very many thanks to all the sponsors, riders and helpers.  We hope to see you again next year on Sunday 26th September 2004.
