Every year the committee organize a summer trip, taking in three to four hundred miles over three days. In the past these trips have been in Ireland and Scotland and in 1993 / 1999 included the length of Ireland from Mizen Head in Co. Cork to Fair Head in Co. Antrim ( cycling time 19hrs.10mins. ).
Sunday morning club runs are held all year round leaving Madigan Pro Bike Centre at 10.00 sharp and usually comprise of 50 to 70 miles at an average speed of between 14-18 mph. A degree of fitness would be required before participating in these runs. Any new members are welcome to take part and help would be available to anyone in difficulty. Training nights are held on Tuesday's, Thursday's and Friday's from the Pro Bike Centre at 6.30pm. These training sessions are tough but new comers will progress in time with input from our Coaches.
At Team Madigan we pride ourselves on teaching young cyclists the proper road rules and how to cycle safely. We have a good safety record and are respected by local Police and the local Council who kindly sponsor several of our open events each year. Our working committee is second to none with many members working away quietly in the back ground for the benefit of all in our sport of cycling.
